East Reservoir Neighbourhood Renewal Action Groups
The Action Groups will bring together residents, agencies and businesses to deliver projects set by the Steering Committee to respond to the community’s needs.
There are 4 Action Groups including:
Health and Wellbeing
Housing and the Physical Environment
Employment and Learning
Community Safety
Any residents living in the East Reservoir Neighbourhood Renewal area are welcome to join one or more of the Action Groups. You are welcome to join an Action Group that matches with your needs or special interests or skills.
Health and Wellbeing
The Health and Wellbeing action group will be looking at ways to encourage people to be more active, reduce their smoking levels, to increase their participatation in sporting activities, to join a social or sports club/group amongst other things.
Housing and the physical environment
The Housing and the physical environment action group will address inadequate housing in the local area and work out ways to ensure everyon'e home is safe, comfortable and appropriate. This action group will look at parks and reserves in the area to improve them, ideas to protect the environment from damage, and changes to the streetscape to make it a better place to be.
Employment and Learning
The Employment and Learning action group will look at ways to increase job and training opportunities for locals. The action group will make sure that people of all ages, young and old, can find opportunities to learn new things, be trained in something new, and participate at school or pre-school activities. The action group will also look at industry and business that could support more jobs and training for locals.
Community Safety
The Community Safety action group will be finding out how personal injuries can be reduced. It will support residents and police to ensure that community safety is a priority. The action group will look at road safety, injury prevention and crime reduction ideas to improve the area.
